I was thinking recently about how "alt" subcultures are so aestheticized now but they used to be much more about your societal views than the clothes you wore or even the bands you listened to, and my brain connected some dots. Idk if this is anything

reviewing my DBT worksheets for homework & something about the way this bit is formatted is so fucking funny

I always found it funny in DBT that they taught us that there were five responses to a problem:

1. Solve the problem

2. Change your relationship to the problem

3. Radically accept the problem

4. Do nothing and stay miserable

5. Make it worse

And I just… love that. I love that they’re like “well here are four things that, depending on the problem and whether you really can do anything about it, can all sort of make sense for different situations. Like ideally at the very least you want to radically accept the problem but sure, there are times where you’re just gonna be miserable about it and that’s also valid. Oh, and also if you’re a little shit I guess you could always just make it worse.”
